SPY HOLIDAY
Minimise the Effects of Corrosion
SPY Holiday Detectors (Jeepers) are equipment used to minimise the effects of corrosion by detecting the presence of “holidays” or “defect” in pipeline or vessel coatings.
The Holiday Detector will detect a defect by creating a voltage potential on an electrode, passed over a conductive surface. The SPY detector is also grounded. As holes in the coating are passed over, the voltage jumps the gap and completes a circuit which then causes a horn (known as a jeep) to sound.
In order to ensure the highest accuracy from your Jeeper, SPY have developed three special Jeepmeters for checking detector voltage output. The Model JM Jeepmeter provides the ultimate in accuracy and versatility featuring a digital display of measured voltage. Two pocket Jeepmeters are also available for testing jeepers in the field. While not comparable with the JM, they are precision instruments and are handy for inspectors, superintendents, foremen or operators and capable of meeting field test requirements.
