Pipe Stoppers or Mechanical Plugs
Thaxton pipe stoppers or mechanical plugs are suitable for most pipe diameters from 1/2″ to 30″.
These pipe plugs are high pressure rated and suitable for pipeline hydro-test.
Safety gags can be installed for added safety during pipe testing. The Thaxton Reverse Pressure Plug permits testing in a relatively small section of pipe. This will avoid filling long sections of pipe with water in order to hydrostatic test a particular weld or segment of pipe.

Standard sizes 3″ thru 12″ SCH. 40 & SCH. 80. Made to fit specific inside diameters with tolerances of plus or minus.O35″. Available in sizes as large as 28″ ID. - TYPE D PIPE STOPPER
Standard sizes 1″ thru 2 1/2” SCH. 40 & SCH. 80. Made to fit specific inside diameters with tolerances of plus or minus.O20″. - TYPE C PIPE STOPPER
Available sizes .460” to 1” Tube ID. Type “C” stoppers are specifically designed for piping or tubing having a smooth concentric inside diameter. - SOCKET WELD PLUG
Sizes available ½” to 2”. The socket weld plug shown above eliminates the need for welding plugs or nipples onto standard socket weld openings in order to conduct pressure tests. - REVERSE PRESSURE TEST PLUG
Standard sizes 1-1/4″ Thru 12″. The Thaxton Reverse Pressure Plug permits testing in a relatively small section of pipe. This will avoid filling long sections of pipe with water in order to hydrostatic test a particular weld or segment of pipe. Reverse plugs have a solid stem and are held in place by hardened steel reverse grips. The seal is made with a Neoprene ring and all steel parts are plated to resist corrosion. - LARGE DIAMETER PIPE STOPPERS
Pipe sizes from 20″ thru 30″. Due to the weight and large size of the parts the stoppers are furnished with a series of draw bolts used in the expansion of the grips.
